Tools for Deeper Work

At Sacred Vessel Therapy, we recognize that the soul speaks in many languages. Dream Work, Active Imagination, Sandtray, and EMDR are not separate destinations, but distinct gateways into the same depth-oriented, soul-focused work. Each modality offers a unique entry point into the landscape of the psyche, allowing us to meet what is hidden with grounded curiosity and a deep reverence for your innate movement toward wholeness.

Dream Work, Active Imagination, and EMDR are different pathways into the same depth-oriented, soul-focused work—each a unique gateway into the living mystery of the unconscious.

Dream Work

Dream work invites you to listen to the symbolic language of the night. It is a way of honoring the psyche's own internal guidance as it speaks through image and metaphor. Dreams offer a direct line to the unconscious, providing a natural bridge to the wisdom that lives just beneath the surface of daily awareness.

What to Expect

We gently unpack the images from your sleep, not to find literal definitions, but to feel into the emotional resonance they hold. We treat a dream as a living entity—a communication from the soul that helps us orient toward wholeness in a steady and respectful way. This practice often begins with recording your dreams upon waking and noticing how they resonate in the body. We pay attention to embodied responses—sensations, emotions, or shifts in energy—which help ground the dream's meaning in your lived experience.

This modality is a good fit for those who feel a nudge from their inner world and seek a grounded, depth-oriented connection to the mystery of their own life.

Active Imagination

Active imagination is an invitation to practice a conscious descent into the depths of the psyche, inviting symbols to rise and speak from the silence of the inner world. It is a meeting place between the conscious and unconscious, which is what makes it different from dream work.

What to Expect

In our sessions, I provide a steady and respectful container where your inner imagery can safely emerge. We listen with curiosity to what rises—be it a figure in a dream or a persistent symbol—and explore its meaning through dialogue. This process honors the psyche’s innate drive toward wholeness, moving beyond words into the profound terrain of personal myth.

Ideal for those who find that intellectual understanding alone is not enough, or who sense that their path to healing requires a deeper, symbol-led exploration.

Sandtray Therapy

Sandtray therapy offers a uniquely expressive, non-verbal space where internal landscapes find external form. By working with miniatures and sand, the psyche is invited to bypass the limitations of intellect, allowing deep-seated patterns, conflicts, and strengths to reveal themselves through symbolic play. It is a profound method for accessing the wisdom of the unconscious in a grounded and tangible way.

What to Expect

In this process, you are provided with a tray of sand and a collection of figurines—ranging from the mythical to the mundane. You are invited to create a 'world' without a set agenda or needed artistic skill. As witness, I hold a steady, non-judgmental container while you discover what emerges. Together, we explore the symbols that arise, noticing how they resonate in your physical and emotional experience, which often leads to unexpected insights and a deeper sense of integration.

Sandtray is particularly resonant for adults who feel 'over-talked' in therapy, those navigating transitions, or anyone seeking a deep, Jungian-informed path to self-discovery that honors the primacy of the soul’s imagery.

EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a gentle yet powerful modality that supports the brain’s natural healing process, allowing traumatic memories to lose their disruptive charge and integrate into your larger story.

What to Expect

In our sessions, we use rhythmic eye movements or gentle bilateral taps to help your nervous system process difficult experiences. This approach doesn't require you to describe every detail out loud, focusing instead on softening the heavy emotional weight associated with the past.

Good fit for: Those feeling stuck in old patterns or carrying residues of past events that continue to feel present and overwhelming.
